Northern Vertex Announces Dr. Bob Thompson Appointed Chief Geologist at Moss Gold Project in Northwest Arizona

Northern Vertex Capital Inc. (TSX.V:NEE) ("Northern Vertex") is pleased to announce effective immediately, Dr. Bob Thompson has been appointed to the position of Chief Geologist. Dr. Thompson will be responsible for directing and overseeing the multi-phase 25,000 foot confirmation in-fill and reserve definition drilling program that recently commenced on the Company's Moss gold-silver property in the historic Oatman Mining district, Northwestern Arizona.

Dr. Thompson is a highly respected and accomplished Geologist who brings Northern Vertex over 37 years of technical, management and geological modeling experience in Canada, the U.S. and abroad. Among his credentials, over an18 year period Dr. Thompson held several senior positions with the Geological Survey of Canada, specializing in mapping, structural analysis and resource evaluation. His pioneering approach paved the way to new exploration models in the Canadian Cordillera.

During his tenure with the GSC, Dr. Thompson led several large multi disciplinary projects including a 40 person investigation of the mineral and petroleum potential of the Queen Charlotte Islands region. His scientific and leadership contributions led to his appointment as Senior Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Energy Mines and Petroleum Resources in 1991. He then returned to the "field" as leader of multiparameter regional mapping and resource evaluation projects under the auspices of GSC's Frontier Geoscience Program.

Dr. Thompson chaired the 1990 annual convention of the Geological Association of Canada and represented PCIAC (PetroCanada International Aid Corporation) as a consultant to the Bolivian government on mineral and petroleum potential of that country. He is also the author of over 75 peerreviewed publications in the geologic and mining sector.

Among several awards to his credit, Dr. Thompson is a recipient of the prestigious RJW Douglas Medal from the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists for contributions to the structural and stratigraphic understanding of Canada's western sedimentary basin. Dr. Thompson received his BSc Degree (Honors) from Queen's University in 1968 followed by a PhD in 1972.

Northern Vertex has also issued a total of 250,000 incentive stock options exercisable for a period of five years at $1.15 per share to consultants of the company.
